General Summary:

The Graphic Designer position is a highly creative role for a person who understands how to use graphic design to create powerful, on-brand product art. The individual should have experience in creating innovative design solutions within snowboarding, skateboarding, music and/or related cultures.

As a member in a highly interactive group environment, the candidate should possess the ability to both provide professional recommendations to multiple disciplines, as well as receive constructive criticism. Furthermore, the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple assignments at the same time is a must. The candidate must be organized and detail-oriented.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • The creative direction, design and production for Freebord’s products, advertising and collateral material.
  • Integral member of Freebord’s creative team
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations, the Director of Marketing and the President on planning, strategy and execution.
  • Conceptualize, design, and produce final art for Freebord Manufacturing.Includes products, print advertising, catalogs, sales collateral, packaging, POP, and promo materials and more.
  • Manage & prioritize workflow.
  • Create branded videos for distribution on all channels.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Awareness of emerging design trends and technologies
  • Thorough knowledge of design, typography and color theory
  • Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro and other non-linear editing programs.
  • Must be as strong camera operator and have the ability to tell a story through video.
  • Design proficiency on Windows platform, working knowledge of Illustrator & Photoshop.
  • Roots in snowboarding/skateboarding/action sports industry desired
  • Strong creative & visual skills with a passion for design.
  • Strong production experience.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple jobs and meet responsibilities.
  • Must be highly organized and dedicated.

Physical/Specific Requirements:

  • Long hours sitting/staring at a computer monitor
  • Ability to be flexible in working late evenings/early mornings, when needed to meet project deadlines
  • Some travel may be necessary to core sports events for creative inspiration and market research
  • Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25 lbs, depending on need
